Born and bred in Nairobi, Kenya, Klin K is a multi-talented rapper, MC , Song-writer and Founder of 3_6 Music group.
after a friend dared him to rap in a high school talent competition,that's when he discovered his talent, which gave him the first runners up position.However he came out outstanding as the best rapper in his school.
Klin K, by then going under the stage name ‘Ckay’ released his debut video, ‘Born Again’ recorded under Camello
International Studios.
Candy n Candy Records head Honcho, Joe Kariuki approached him and convinced into signing him in a publicized nationwide talent search.
Having signed his first record contract at only 17 years with Candy n Candy records as part of a three member group called ‘Chapter 3’ alongside Noti Flow(Rapper) and Tayo(singer) they released the debut single, ‘The Star’ affirming his place in the current and future local music scene, since this group performed alongside established acts like Jua Cali, Wyre, Baby Madaha and Colonel Mustapha
Later on he went on to shoot ‘Kuna Wia’ a Kamba folk rap song, still under Candy n Candy records, well signifying his versatility and diversity.
Having rebranded as “Klin K.’
On 20th October 2015, Mashujaa Day, he released his Debut EP Album, ‘Xplaining my Xplicit Xploits’ a 6-track EP under his own 3_6 Music Group, a clear switch from his reserved gospel upbringing to varied critical appeal.
The EP is essential unveiling his talents with witty punch lines, clever wordplay and an aggressively energetic and unapologetic flow.
Released on Kenya’s Mashujaa Day (Heroes Day) it marked his entry into the music scene as a future legend and a talent to watch out for and reckon with.
INSPIRATION
Locally. Klin K Kenya, hails the late E-Sir, the lyrical genius of Juliani and the Genge master, Jua Cali which explains musical prowess.
Internationally, he owes his early and current musical influence to Eminem, Kanye West, J Cole, Casper Nyovest (S.A) and Drake.
NB: Apart from direct music influences, Klin K owes his strict spiritual upbringing and wild Campus life as pillars to his distinct but provocative style of music and is quoted to as saying, ‘Religion is superficial, I believe in a God but I couldn’t tell u who that is’ clearly stating that he believes in neither Christianity, Islam or any of the world’s most popular religions.
